Today Big Fish Local is featuring the Corn Crib Farm Market as part of the Shop Local Springfield Campaign. The Corn Crib Farm Market began from a very humble beginning back in the mid eighties when a local couple started selling sweet corn from their hay wagon. Eventually, they were able to sell enough sweet corn to be able to expand. Jerry and Mary moved the operation to the corn crib that was located on their property and the Corn Crib Farm Market was born! Now they were actually selling more than corn. The Corn Crib Farm Market was selling tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and other produce as well.
Soon, Mary and Jerry were able to move locations once again. This time they built a store on their property, just down the road from the original corn crib. With the help of their family they raise as much produce as they can including super sweet corn, several kinds of tomatoes, green beans, cucumbers, squash, lettuce, herbs and strawberries. When in season they have fresh Georgia and Carolina peaches, nectarines and plums. Now they have all kinds of fresh produce, flowers, mulch, and homemade goods for sale. Stop by and say hey to Jerry and Mary at the Corn Crib Farm Market today!
